Review: The Hitwoman and the Neurotic Witness

Have I told you lately how much I LOVE this series? Seriously, I've tried to find a substitute and none have come close to being as funny as JB Lynn's Hitwoman series. Check out my reviews of Book 1, Book 2, Book 3, and Book 4.

You would think after 5 books that they would lose some of their pizzazz, start to feel cookie cutterish, or become predictable. But, no. I laughed through every page for the first 4 chapters of The Hitwoman and the Neurotic Witness. It's got to be the animals - they crack me up.

Book 5 begins right where The Hitwoman and the Family Jewels left off. Maggie's apartment isn't the only thing going boom and her "boss" wants to know who the bomber is. Maggie is hoping her and Patrick are going to get off and not end with Patrick getting offed. (ok, I'm not anywhere near as funny as JB). There is a pretty hot and heavy make-out session between Patrick and Maggie. The aunts and their beaus along with the scrabble tile reader are all present and accounted for. Zeke returns with a mysterious woman and even more mysterious job. For how funny the beginning chapters were, the story took a serious turn towards the end. And I'm starting to think Maggie may need to get multiple lives juggling lessons from her murder mentor. I can't wait to see what happens next.

I always do a little happy dance when a new Hitwoman hits the shelves and this one was no exception. If you haven't started this series yet you are missing out. It's like Toys'r'us for grown ups (turns your frown upside down). If you need a pick me up, then pick up the whole series. You won't regret it.
