This is part of the Bound and Determined series of novels, so there are nods to characters from prior novels. It's a fun addition if you've read them, but not necessary to understand this one.
It's a fun and almost silly conflict between Cynthia (nicknamed Sin as a child, and the source of the title) and Jasmine's brother James. They get to know each other in the cottage they're trapped in by the rain, then in the guise of Cynthia visiting his aunt. The affection they have for each other is clearly there, and James is a bit high-handed in how he takes care of others. Of course, that's tempered by the end, and Cynthia goes from innocent to a more active participant in her relationship.
I like Cynthia, and enjoyed the snippets of her relationship with Jasmine. James starts off as a little less likeable than the usual romantic hero, but his changes help fix that. A cute story, but I liked the others in the series better.

Born and raised in New York City, M.K. French started writing stories when very young, dreaming of different worlds and places to visit. She always had an interest in folklore, fairy tales, and the macabre, which has definitely influenced her work. She currently lives in the Midwest with her husband, three young children, and golden retriever.
