Death Comes to the Nursery by Catherine Lloyd ~ a Review

by Donna Huber

I love this series and I stalked NetGalley until I saw the ARC listed. I was not disappointed. Robert and Lucy are just wonderful as characters and they really seem to be coming together as a couple.

A Sister’s Courage by Molly Green ~ Review

by Susan Roberts

It’s 1939 and the threat of war hangs over Britain…

"Before the war, it was unheard of for women to have equal pay in any job whatsoever, but in May 1943 Miss Grower was the first person in any company or organization to obtain equal pay for the women pilots in the Air Transport Auxiliary.  She pushed home the point that her pilots were doing exactly the same job and taking exactly the same risks every day as the men.  She refused to take no for an answer."

Do You Celebrate Your Blogiversary?

by Donna Huber

Last Wednesday marked Girl Who Reads 9th anniversary. A few years, particularly in the beginning, I did giveaways or tried to post something special to mark the day. Alas, I usually forgot about it until the last minute so nothing really lavished has ever been planned. I don't see the lavish celebrations that mark a blogiversary as of late. At least not to the extent that I have seen in the past. Do you celebrate your blogiversary?

Justice Gone by N. Lombardi Jr. ~ Review

by Susan Roberts

"Burnfield, New Jersey, just another banal town in a part of the country that nobody thinks about, was about to become famous;  or rather, more aptly put, infamous.  People sauntered past lackluster shops unaware that in a few days, the lackadaisical streets would bear the rabid frustrations that divided the nation;  a pus-like bitterness that was held in check by the demands of everyday survival and the distractions offered by obsessive consumerism and brazen media."  (p2)

Cat Tale: The Wild Weird Battle to Save the Florida Panther by Craig Pittman ~ a Review

by Donna Huber

Once upon a time, I dreamed of being Dr. Donna so I went to graduate school, picked Florida panther recovery as my project, life happened, and I decided it wasn't really a direction I wanted to go in. But I did love my project and have thought about publishing my non-defended dissertation is some form. So when I saw Craig Pittman's Cat Tale: The Wild Wierd Battle to Save the Florida Panther, I had to pick it up - partly to see if I missed my chance and partly because I'm still very much interested in the subject.
