It is a cute cozy mystery. The amateur sleuth is Willa Bauer who owns a cheese shop. I don't necessarily think California when I think cheese. With the Dairy Days festival, I kept thinking it was Wisconsin. Which state they are in isn't really important but it did bug me.
I like the characters. They are just quirky enough for a fun cozy mystery but not so quirky that they feel unrealistic.
The mystery is entertaining and kept my interest. I figured out the motive before the characters did but I didn't guess the murderer.
If you are looking for a light read and some great cheese selections (I was totally craving cheese while reading), then you should pick up this book.
